I purchased this same saw from Sears last week and I set it up today. I noticed a review here that talks about the saw not powering up when first starting and I wanted to share how it can be easily fixed. The saw is not broken, it just has too much tension in the drive belt. I fixed this issue by putting some slack into the drive belt from the motor to the drive pulley. It appears these units sometimes come from the factory with the belt tension set way too high and the small motor can not generate enough torque to start things going. Giving it a little slack the saw went to work and cuts great.
